Romania’s young people want. They want more than the usual figures about them suggest. Romania has one of the highest shares of students enrolled in STEM programmes in the European Union, 30.9% against an average of 26.9%, according to the Education and Training Monitor 2025. And among girls, too, the share rises above the European average. The appetite for science, engineering and technology is real, contradicting the image of a passive generation.
